Rarest Gem Yoga Update

Prenatal Yoga commencing soon

Are you pregnant or know someone who is? We have great news. Leanne McKechnie is starting Prenatal Yoga classes on Fridays at 11:30am beginning on the 25th of July.

Leanne will also be teaching Hatha Yoga in the Monday 6pm slot in place of ISHTA yoga while Kristie is off having her baby.

Tuesday night Yoga Nidra and Meditation

Kathy is running alternating Yoga Nidra and Meditation classes on Tuesday nights at 7:30pm.

Yoga Nidra is 'dynamic sleep' in which you learn to relax conciously. This is a guided meditation suitable for all.

The Meditation class is geared toward past students of our Meditation Classes, providing an oportunity to continue group practice. This will be a guided meditation.

Thank you to all who came and especially to those of you who called and emailed to tell us how much you enjoyed the day.

Hatha Yoga, Meditation and Bollywood classes are all in progress for this round. Please email us if you missed out on this intake and we'll let you know when the next course will start.

Yoga Changes

Our beautiful ISHTA yoga teacher is leaving us for a while. Kristie has been a wonderful shining light at the Gem and we will miss her while she is taking some time off before having her baby. You will still be able to catch her at the Gem being a student and enjoying just being pregnant. Hopefully after the baby is born Kristie will be back teaching Mummy and Me classes one morning a week. All of us at the Gem wish Kristie and James a delightful pregnancy and a safe and happy arrival of the new addition to the Maiden family.

Mummy and me classes in the future. Yoga is a wonderful way of looking after yourself after the birth of your baby. The classes will focus on postures specifically designed for the postnatal months, helping your body regain strength and tone in a safe and effective way. Classes will include special activities to bond with your baby and connect with other mothers. During the sessions you will be offered the choice to involve your baby in the yoga postures or have him or her near to you. The classes are baby centred. With the support of others, you will be able to develop a balance between doing yoga for yourself and meeting the needs of your baby. The classes are suitable for babies 6 weeks old to active crawling.
