Kathy teaches Kundalini Yoga, The Yoga of Awareness as taught by Yogi Bhajan. Kathy studied under Gurujivan Kaur in 2004 at Samadhi Yoga in Sydney. Kathy comes from a corporate background, having worked in the IT industry for approximately 15 years. She believes that we have lost our connection with ourselves and our environment. Kundalini Yoga has helped her to go within, learning to balance life. In 2006 Kathy was given her spiritual name of Balwant Kaur. Balwant means strength and bravery. Kaur means the Princess/Lioness of God who walks with grace and courage throughout her life. Receiving the name Balwant Kaur means Kathy has the potential for great spiritual strength, and the grace and courage of a Lioness of God. It is her life time purpose to live up to her name.
In March 2008 Kathy undertook a teacher training course in Pune, India. She trained here with masters of the Iyengar Yoga tradition. Her aim was to learn more about alignment of the body to enhance her own practice and her teaching skills. Kathy's practice continues to be Kundalini based balancing the chakras with breath, movement, meditation and relaxation.
Kathy is a member of IKYTA (International Kundalini Yoga Teachers Association) and KYTAANZ (Kundalini Yoga Teachers Association, Australia and New Zealand).
For many years Mick Edwards had the desire to help others in his professional life. At the time he was working in IT and decided that becoming a massage therapist would be a more ethical choice of work and it followed his passion to help others. Over some years he tried different therapies himself, attending many practioners until he found Shiatsu. Mick found that Shiatsu not only helped him relax but it also relieved the chronic pain he felt in his back.
Mick studied at Australasian College of Natural Therapies and Nature Care College in 2001. He now holds a Diploma in Shiatsu Therapy and a Certificate in Swedish massage. He has also studied Thai Yoga Massage.
Recently in India, he spent a month learning Ayurvedic Massage at the KARE Ayurvedic Retreat and now offers Indian Head Massage and Shirodhara Massage which he thinks may possibly be the most relaxing way to spend an hour that there is!
In his work, Mick often combines aspects of various techniques he has studied believing that muscles and meridians are not mutually exclusive.
Mick is a member of Australian Traditional Medicine Society (ATMS).
